I did it. I disabled OneDrive on my laptop.

I am sick of being unable to easily attach a finished project file to an email. I shouldn't have to search, fail, and call in the IT expert (who is in-house, lucky for me, thank you @wulfric ) in order to do my fucking job.

Yeah, yeah, I'm still using Word. Baby steps, kids. Baby steps. This step means I've lost the autosave function, which I will sorely miss, but so be it. I'll go back to manual saves after every 5 minutes or so, assuming I've made changes/suggestions in that time.

Because I am An Old, and I like things My Way, I am currently doing battle with a PDF that I need to have in Word 365 so I can effectively do my job.

I hate PDF files. I patently refuse to learn how to edit them. And given that this job is a critique, I don't need to be able to mark it up at all, but I do need word/page counts to properly quote and invoice.

ARGH.

Anyone coming in here to tell me the glories of PDFs will be muted at best and blocked at worst. I don't need opinions, I'm just bitching.

A decade into being a dad, and I'm still sometimes surprised when there are lengthy stretches of silence from both wife and daughter in the house while I'm busy, but when I'm not and I sit down with a book or when I'm trying to write, suddenly my attention is needed every couple of minutes.
