NHAM Update Opus 10 (Fedi Music Television Edition)
by @sknob
Last month, I teased:
Ambitious Project That I Can’t Wait To Tell You About
But I don’t know if I can, so for now…I won’t.
Well the cat’s out of the bag. As you may have heard by now, @limebar has been working tirelessly to bring a 24/7 Music Video Station to the Fediverse, in collaboration with The Indie Beat Radio!
And THE INDIE BEAT TELEVISION (TIBtv for short) is almost ready for prime-time!
How Indie Video Killed The Spotify Star describes the long and winding road to the present, and includes a call for contributions!
I don’t think it is an exaggeration to say that the announcement went viral. This project has clearly struck a chord!
All the details are in the article and the submission form, but to summarize, TIBtv is looking for contributions from YOU, yes YOU:
– Music videos (original music only, no covers, sorry)
– Animations, à la early MTV, for the Animation Array program curated by @RobertaFidora
– Other eye candy and jingles
– Promotional videos for comparable/compatible community projects
– Station and show IDs (which means anyone can contribute something!)
Submissions have started pouring in, and NHAM is contributing it’s catalog of videos to the station, pending consent from all the artists of course, and will also have a featured slot.
So please take the time to read the submission guidelines, put on your creative hats or socks or mittens or ponchos or whatever gets you going, and contribute to THE INDIE BEAT TELEVISION!
In other news
Since I also teased it several times, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that The Four Seasons of Bonk Wave: A Midsummer Bonk’s Dream 1 & 2 were finally released. As usual, the listening parties were epic, and so are the albums. Disc 2 even contains tracks based on the first ever official Bonk Wave Sample Challenge!
And since I have your attention, don’t miss this fantastic interview with musician extraordinaire (and occasional bonkwaver) Emily @socool.
We hope this will be the first of many more.
Speaking of which, just a friendly reminder that NHAM welcomes contributions from our readers and beyond! while Sam (@ethicalrevolution) and I started the ball rolling, we hope to become more of a collective, or community of active participants/contributors. Short form, long form, tell the community what music gave you joy and why, rant about stuff, speak your mind, don’t be shy!
Enough talking! Where’s the music?
Well for starters, October is off to a great musical start with the release of Sam’s latest mixtape: Numerical Hexadecimal Arithmetical Mathematical – NHAM Mixtape 16!
You can also listen to previous mixtapes by following the NHAMmixtapes tag, or to my personal favorite, NHAM Mixtape Radio, which includes more tracks from artists featured on the mixtapes.
You’ll also find plenty of music to discover courtesy of the latest Fair Trade Music Friday.
Finally, tradition oblige, check out the latest RELEASES by these fine fedi musicians:

A final word (sorry)
Do send people our way when they’re trying to connect with artists on the Fediverse. That’s what we’re here for!
And for the rest, it’s also up to you, dear reader, to convince the people around you that Fedi Music is The Best!
