The city of Las Cruces violated New Mexico’s Open Meetings Act throughout the process of selecting its new city manager earlier in 2024, an investigation by the state Department of Justice found.

Investigators declared the selection of city manager Ikani Taumoepeau, as well as the selection process from its inception, invalid.
