Does anyone know how I can unlock #oneplus 7 Pros bootloader. I want to switch to #lineageos but am failing at that step during the install
Things I have tried so far:
-enable OEM unlock in developer settings and then using fastboot to unlock it. That fails with an error message (known issue on android 12, other threads reccomens downgrading to 11).
- using an inoffical firehose client (https://github.com/bkerler/edl). I don't know what the issue there was, there was no relevant error in the output, even in debugging mode (though I suspect it is the same issue as above).
Things I have tried to downgrade to Android 11:
-using the official rollback packeges. Sadly the links on tge official thread (https://community.oneplus.com/thread/1181167844348919809) are dead and I cant find the rollback packages anywhere else
- using the unbrick tools (https://xdaforums.com/t/op7pro-latest-oos-11-0-5-1-gm21aa-gm21ba-collection-of-unbrick-tools.3956595/). Since I don't have a windows PC, I tried it on a friends laptop where it just didn't work without a clear error message. I then set up a new win 11 VM. There I couldn't install the required drivers (super generic errror message, something like path not found but without specifying the path).

Hab's jetzt desinfiziert und zum Akklimatisieren an die Seite gelegt. Bin sehr gespannt, ob der Austausch des Akkus das olle Ding (5 Jahre, da lacht ein Nokia 5110 drüber) jetzt zu neuem Leben erwecken konnte. Von der Leistung her reicht es mir ansonsten nämlich nach wie vor vollkommen. #OnePlus7Pro

Davor ist es mir schonmal runtergefallen und die Glassrückseite hatte danach Risse. Das Gerät war sehr gut wurde bis #Android 12 unterstützt. Und es funktioniert immer noch sehr gut, wenn ich den Akku tauschen könnte. Deswegen habe ich nun auch ein #Fairphone5 . Da kann ich Akku und Rückseite sehr leicht ersetzen. #Fairphone #Reparierbar #RechtAufReparatur

I recall the error being "device doesn't meet software standards" or something like that
Perhaps they've changed the API for contactless again? That's a shame if so
I have read that the #Fairphone5 uses #UFS 2.2. My old #Oneplus7Pro from 2019 already used UFS 3.1.

Does anyone know why #Fairphone did choose UFS 2.2? Is it a good decision if you want use it for 10 years?

Back in 2019 when I got my #oneplus7pro it was the first time in 7-8 years that my first job when opening a fresh phone wasn't to unlock, wipe and flash #CyanogenMod/#LineageOS. And I've used it's stock #android since. And it was awesome for the first couple of years. I didn't believe I would ever like a stock ROM again, #OxygenOS back then was pretty great though.
But the #oppo "merger" pretty much started a serious enshitification process.
After dragging my feet for a while I've gotten around to setting up a "backup" phone we had around the house for my payments app (which at least for a while more will be inevitable) and am hoping to get around to flashing #Lineage at some point over the weekend.
It was nice while it lasted, but I guess we're pretty much back in the situation of no adequate stock ROMs. A few years back when I was last using #LOS I needed the whole google bloatware for work reasons, but now I think I can pull off a fully degoogled phone, so hoping that works out.
I'm pretty interested in trying out #postmarketos too, but that seems to have somewhat partial support for #guacamole and I don't feel adventurous enough for that at this time.

I've been pretty happy with #OnePlus, #LG, and #Samsung in the past, and I've heard good things about #GooglePixel phones, too. I don't want anything brand new, and I'd like to spend less than $200.
