For now, #HongKong was the canary in the coal mine on how #OneStateTwoSystems works. People in #Taiwan have witnessed that canary die and they want none of that experience.

In an interview, Chiang rightfully stated there was no market in #Taiwan for #Beijing's #onestatetwosystems model which has shown its true nature in #HongKong. And Chiang identified #China as a threat for Taiwan.

In terms of #civicrights and #humanrights, #HongKong has always been considered as the canary in the coalmine.

#China is killing the #freedoms that Hong Kong is known for quickly. Seeing #JimmyLai being arrested is the final nail in the coffin.

#Zhongnanhai has killed off the #onestatetwosystems model. The entire region needs to oppose Beijing's unilateral moves to change the #statusquo. #appeasement will be of no use against #XiJinping and the #CCP.

By imposing its #securitylaw, #China ripped up the #JointDeclaration on #HongKong, disrespected the city's status as an #SAR and essentially killed off the Troian Horse known as #onestatetwosystems as a consequence.
Now China blames #GreatBritain of breaching the contract it has signed because it has offered political #asylum to citizens of Hong Kong unwilling to continue their lives behind the Great Firewall in a totalitarian one-party state.
