We just HAD to see the "skyscraper" state capitol in Bismarck, ND, "by law" the tallest building in the state.
This Art Deco beauty stands 241' 8" tall, with meaningful & functional design elements throughout.
Designed by DeRemer, Kurke, Holabird & Root. Built in 1934 after a fire destroyed the 1st building.
The top (18th) floor has a collection of historic photos. 1st floor showcases notable ND folk.
Bonus: The petunias spell "North Dakota" 🤩

On this day in 2021 we enjoyed visiting Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. We've been there multiple times.

The black & white card from @krista highlights her visit to "The Green" a public square in the town of Dover, Delaware. In 1737, delegates met at the Golden Fleece Tavern facing The Green and ratified the United States Constitution, giving Delaware a place of honor as "The First State."
On this day, August 1, 2022, we enjoyed a weekend trip up the northern coast of California. Walked across the Pudding Creek Trestle, a historic wooden bridge built in 1915. It's 527' long and 44' high, located in Fort Bragg, CA, off Hwy 1 next to the ocean. The bridge was used by cars and trucks until 1949. Are you a bridge aficionado?
