For those interested, this is the Who's Who of the Top20%, #OilCo, CommonwealthNorth "cut the PFD so we don't have to pay for govt" crowd. They have their candidate. Still up for grabs? Someone who prioritizes the remaining 80% of #AKfams. #akleg
🤦 The old Lesil McGuire proposal: govt gets all of the POMV, Alaskans are left with some share of highly volatile oil revenues. A selective reading of Hammond, another misinterpretation of current law, and yet another proposed bailout of the Top 20%, #NonRez & #OilCo. It's all there. #akleg
Tangeman with the typical Top20%, #NonRez & #OilCo mantra: Ohhhhh, it's a spending problem that can be cured by #akleg PFDcuts 🤫 so that we don't have to contribute anything ourselves. 🤦 The real surprise? Both D/I's & R's who claim to prioritize #WorkingAKfams fall for it. https://buff.ly/4bel8fc

This is just another way of ending up at PFD cuts. The #akleg has shown that it will not support the level of cuts this approach would require, so refusing to support substitutes just leaves the #akleg right back at PFD cuts. For that reason, this sort of position is just a Top20%, #NonRez & #OilCo fallback. https://www.adn.com/politics/alaska-legislature/2024/10/31/in-alaskas-vast-interior-state-house-district-republicans-worry-about-a-split-vote/
