  • I certainly am not gonna dive into that whole story, but granted there is a pipeline that supports the radicalization of sexual offenders grooming each other from merely consuming abuse material to facilitating and recording abuse themselves.

The unwillingness of police forces to search seized forums for links and delete #CSAM from hosters is baffling to me to this day, because no bona-fide hoster wants pedos abusing their services!

  • That being said #Shitter / "#xAI" / #Grok & #ClosedAI nee #OpenAI should not get to "#OCILLA their way out" on this one, because it's one thing when they unknowingly get abused (like a postal service being abused to send weapons illegally) vs. knowingly creating harmful content and believing ToS should allow them to shield themselves from #accountability & #consequences.

  • "Hoster Privilegues" only apply for when the hoster doesn't profit directly off any malicious use and merely acts as conduit similar to utilities.

@laprice pressing X for doubt cuz @signalapp does have #ToS and obviously both the ability and willingness if not being legally mandated to close down accounts - regardless if a "duely issued warrant" or #CloudAct.

Signal being abused is a statistical inevitability and it's one thing to claim to not know the contents vs. knowingly ignoring abuse complaints.

  • Cuz #OCILLA only covers their ass legally until the point they get to know certain abuses. After that (+ a certain grace period for duely investigating validity) that doesn't apply anymore.

  • Noone wants their instances' users get harrassed by the likes of #KiwiFarms unless they themselves are in favour of those.

  • Same goes for all the #Neonazi instances. Those are usually hosted at #RogueISP|s that refuse to process #AbuseReports.

  • Given the shakyness and lacK of precedents confirming the extension of 'provider privilegues' (akin to #OCILLA) to #Fediverse servers, blocking #pedo instances is necessary in many juristictions as to not cache their contents and thus 'knowingly and willingly' aid in the spread if #CSAM.
