Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: ORCID in the Wild featuring Fundacao para a Ciencia e a Tecnologia. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

Join us for "ORCID in the Wild," a series that uncovers the diverse and impactful ways ORCID is adopted within the global scholarly community. Much like seeds carried by the wind, ORCID has taken root worldwide, fostering connections and cultivating collaborations. In this session, we are excited to highlight Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) and its innovative use of ORCID in research management. Since 2014, PTCRIS—Portugal’s national research information system—has championed the principle, "Register once, reuse always," streamlining research management for Portuguese researchers. While ORCID adoption isn’t mandatory, it has become highly encouraged due to its numerous benefits for researchers. By integrating ORCID with national systems like CIÊNCIAVITAE, PTCRIS has significantly reduced the administrative burden on researchers, saving them valuable time and effort. Through PTCRISync, researchers no longer need to manually update their profiles across various platforms. New projects or publications added to ORCID are automatically synced with CIÊNCIAVITAE, ensuring data accuracy without redundant effort. This integration has saved over 154 hours of administrative work, allowing researchers to dedicate more time to their research. Join us to explore how this seamless integration is reshaping the research landscape and how ORCID is becoming an indispensable tool in simplifying academic workflows.
