President Trump has signed executive orders that tranform the Nuclear Regulatory Commission from a nuclear safety agency into a promoter of nuclear power, a Union of Concerned Scientist nuclear expert contends. The orders also encourage the Defense Department and the Energy Department to begin licensing nuclear reactors, which would also have a detrimental impact on safety. As an independent agency, the NRC should reject the executive orders, which negate Congress’ chief rationale for creating the agency—public safety.

TIL that Canada's NRC continues to fly a Harvard aircraft for research purposes. Flying this WW2-era airplane might be at the extreme/opposite end of a scale that includes flying 5th generation fighters at the other end. But that's ok. Because, why the hell not?!? 😀
