I've been away, heads-down revising the ending of my novel, reworking the plot. I did a NaNoWriMo-style vomit draft of the second half of it over about six weeks last fall. Has been a nightmare to clean up.

Starting now, my goal is to revise two chapters a week with an eye toward having a polished draft in a June/July kind of timeframe.

I got a ton of revision done this morning despite lots of interruptions. I'm revising the finale chapters first before circling back to the opening, and I've figured out a strategy for keeping track of what I need to add before this and what research still needs to be done. Keeping it all under control is the hardest part of revision for me.

One chapter is polished and off to a reader for feedback.

Taylor Larsen has a novel revision class starting this month at Catapult. I liked her novel-drafting workshops. This one is ten weeks. Looks like there are only six spots for the class, and I think they have an opening.

10-Week Novel Revision Workshop - Taylor Larsen

Once you have a draft of your novel, the great task of revision begins. Many writers wonder how to approach this foreign landscape. Do I start with...

I've been doing virtual write-ins with some writing friends over the last two or three months. A one-time thing that evolved to weekly and now twice a week. Very useful. I would not have rolled out of bed and started revising this morning if people weren't counting on me to be there. Highly recommend.
