Still over here revising this novel. I have been working on it daily, though I took a break yesterday. Back on it today. My first novel is out on submission, and really the only thing to do to cope with that situation (complete lack of control) is to finish a different novel.

April is going to be another month of daily novel revision. I have been using highlighters (in very nice muted colors, not neon ones) to mark certain things in my draft. This pass, I am focusing on the timeline of the story and everything related to backstory so I can make sure it's all consistent and the flow of the story works well.

What's your process for revision?

More than a year ago, I printed off maps etc. for the specific place/time of my WIP. I'm sure I saved links. It's all here *somewhere* - maybe in the pile on my office floor? In a notebook? In OneNote?

Any writers here use software for drawing maps and floorplans for their novels? What do you recommend?

I've been away, heads-down revising the ending of my novel, reworking the plot. I did a NaNoWriMo-style vomit draft of the second half of it over about six weeks last fall. Has been a nightmare to clean up.

Starting now, my goal is to revise two chapters a week with an eye toward having a polished draft in a June/July kind of timeframe.

I'm heads down doing a chunk of research over here and working on finishing up my February goals. Only need to finish revisions on four chapters in the next week.
