Lolita (1997)
By #AdrianLyne

#JeremyIrons plays a professor who cannot control his desire for 12 year-old Dolores Haze, #DominiqueSwain , in this adaptation of Nabokov's classic novel.

This is a beautiful failure. It was supposed to expose the evil of pedophilia in the 1950s and open society's eyes to it, but Lyne held his hand and avoided delivering the disturbing message he was supposed to send us. Irons' talent was completely wasted.
