There’s a mains electrical power failure in my area. Being a modern wired citizen (with power still in his phone), I go to the ESB Networks website for a status update.

It asks me for my address (logically enough) and then for my phone number (why?).

It then refuses to give me an area status update because my postcode and phone number don’t match their records demanding my meter number instead. I’M IN THE FREAKING DARK HERE, KAREN! JUST GIVE ME THE AREA STATUS!

Yesterday I showed up at a store at 3:30 responding to a request for help. In short:
Woman was stranded, running from abusive spouse;
Wouldn’t go to PD due to warrants for her arrest;
Went to PD;
No warrants;
Bought bus ticket to big city with more resources;
Decided not to go;
Drove 76 miles to get car that ran out of gas (with gas can);
Car not there;
76 mikes back to bus stop;
Home at 8:30
Hoping she gets help

I "love it" when you get ChatGPT chat history as a „solution" for a problem... it's about NSUserActivity and first thing that pops into my eye is the property „isPoweredByNFC“... that totally sounds like Apple would call it #not #nothelpful
