Thinking of Sumood and her colleagues from #NonviolentPeaceforce in #Sudan

Each morning, Sumood starts her day at the new reception center of the #Tawila camp, where she works in shifts to provide a presence that keeps the lines of people entering calm and orderly. She greets people who have walked over 60 kilometers, mostly overnight for safety, to reach Tawila.

NP established an on-the-ground presence in 2021 in #Darfur. Women like Amal and another 120 Women Protection Team leaders worked daily to keep their communities safe. They led organized groups of women to gather firewood together, so they would no longer be attacked as they ventured into the bush.
