No one is free until we are all free.
The U.S. aiding and abetting the #Genocide of #Palestinians (and many other genocides, ethnic cleansing, fascist governments around the world), should be a major warning siren to all people.
This all comes home to roost. Look up #DeadlyExchange and read about how the IDF comes to the US to train with pigs. The violent and horrible tactics used against Palestinians will be used against us.
Besides the fact we should be standing with all oppressed people on basic principle - it is also a fact that regardless of whether or not we are currently experiencing violence ourselves - we can't afford not to if we ever want to live in peace.

It is heart wrenching to feel like people need to be reminded why genocide, homelessness, war, police violence, etc are wrong.
However, it is helpful to remind ourselves that this desensitization and normalization is a function of capitalism and it takes concerted effort to fight against it on a personal level.
Are there some people who "just don't care"/openly advocate for continued violence? Yes.
Are there people who want to care/are capable of caring but have been desensitized to the continued violence? Yes - and those are the folks who deserve education and conversation.
My point is this:
Grief and heartbreak is normal in response to violence.
You are not "too sensitive" when you feel overcome with sadness at the state of things.
Do not let yourself become desensitized.
Keep going and keep fighting.
We need each other now more than ever before.
