@helpers hello, may i pls get some help on this query about #Circles ?

i have sub-divided my list of follows & followers into several Circles. one of these is for all my followed #newsbots. i have found to my chagrin that a basic design feature of #Friendica is working against me here. atm, if i read a particular newsbot's post whilst in my "Bot" circle, then decide to quote-boost / quote-share it, with some pertinent commentary by me, it's a complete waste of time... the default Friendica permissions / visibility feature makes my resultant post "Locked", ie visible only to members of this circle, ie, a heap of bots. no actual human will ever see it.

[how] can i avoid this? how can i manually allow any/all posts / replies / boosts / shares that i do from this circle, be visible across all the fediverse?

when circles comprise actual human accounts, this baked-in Friendica privacy concept makes sense. it is however actively unhelpful, indeed plain obstructive, for the specific case of a bot circle.

The #NewsBots that we run on our #instance will be fed directly from our system from today.

Many thanks to @mastofeed for the posts generated to date based on the #RSS / #Atom feeds of the sources.

Unfortunately, the last few days have seen an increase in outages, which has resulted in a lack of posts. As we regarded #Mastofeed as a compromise to self-hosting, we used the time to look for an alternative.

From today we will try it with tootbot.

Just updated the #fediverse #news follows list because of the recent #Twitter change in how timelines are presented.

Since all the Twitter newsbots are pretty much dead, the list now contains either RSS #newsbots or they're official #fediverse accounts.

Looks like a lot of #newsbots are broken due to the latest #Twitter changes.

This is an issue for anyone looking for news on the #fediverse as a lot of them were originally built to pull from Twitter rather than #rss.

This also includes #Canadian newsbots. Only a couple of them like @CBCNews pulls from RSS instead of Twitter...
