#TIL theres an "Almost Standards Mode" for CSS.

I knew about Quirks Mode (i.e. "do dumb shit that's mostly because of IE") and Standards Mode (i.e. "do it properly and as you'd expect, like Firefox does"). I'd never heard of "Almost Standards Mode"!

Off to #archery later on this morning. I am really liking my #NewToMe #Longbow.

Its a custom made Bickerstaff bow that draws 60lb @ 28inches. Its even tillered for a #Lefthanded archer. I bought it from the guy who had it custom made for him and he is pretty much the same size as me so its custom made for me too.

I am still getting used to the draw weight to some extent. I need to learn to slow my shot cycle down and take time to aim properly. I can hold it at full draw without too much effort but its tempting to go "draw to close enough to anchor point, LOOSE" and not "draw to precisely anchor point, relax, THINK, loose".

I try to shoot as instinctively as possible. I do a bit of split vision aiming so its both eyes open at the least. I don't score at all. I pin a paper plate to the boss to give me something to aim at and thats it.

That alone infuriates some people as I should be scoring and proving that I have improved by 2% since this time last year with 3 sigma confidence. I don't give a shit about scores and competitions. Its fun to make sticks fly and if they fly in the right direction and land in roughly the right spot thats a happy accident.

Its a lovely way to spend a morning in the sunshine.

Was in the mood for listening to some of Ben Folds more depressing stuff (Cigarette, Brick, etc) and came across an album of his that's new to me. This waltz-y tune is my favourite. I thought it was going to be a love song but then came the twist in the story that cracked me up because, oh, we all have at least one of those people in our lives. #relatable
