Der Zustand der Biodiversität in der Schweiz ist unbefriedigend. Die Hälfte der Lebensräume und ein Drittel der Arten sind bedroht. Mit dem Rückgang der Artenvielfalt ist auch genetische Vielfalt verloren gegangen. Die Verluste halten auf allen drei Ebenen der Biodiversität an.
