@eestileib I'm not sure. Yes, Schumer & Jeffries (and an unfortunate number of other Democrats) have been unwilling to call out and oppose the #NetanyahuAdminstration's murder, land theft, and ethnic cleansing.

But supporting the #WhiteHouse's criminal war of choice against Iran? That's a Miller/Hegseth stupidity that a mental incompetent agreed to, and I see no evidence that either Schumer or Jeffries support it.

Why is the US so tolerant of a government that allows- and seems to permit - these abuses? (I'm not talking about the #GOP - I do not expect better. I'm talking about the #Democrats who pose for photo ops with Netanyahu, and who in spite of nice words about rights fail to condemn the #NetanyahuAdminstration's murderous abuse in #WestBank and #Gaza)

Fascinating how the #IDF is always "looking into" incidents after civilians and reporters are murdered by IDF troops. Given that the same "incidents" keep repeating, what exactly is the purpose of "looking into" incidents? Is it so the #NetanyahuAdminstration can repeat those "incidents" more effectively?

@scott On reading the bill, I see Sec 1(b)(10)(B)) finds that "participants" did "Call for or support genocide, as that term is defined by the 1948 United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Genocide Convention), whether that genocide is aimed at protected groups specified in the Genocide Convention, or aimed at protected groups specified in Section 51 of the Civil Code."

And then calls for policies to prohibit that. Given the reference to the Genocide Convention's definition of "Protected Groups", this should apply to expressing support for the #NetanyahuAdminstration 's policies (which are a continuation of the "conservative" Israeli government policies in a more aggressive manners.)

I suspect the sponsors really haven't mapped out the implications of the bill. A "shocked, shocked to find" once again.

"Tragic Gaps"????? After the news about Lavender and "Where's Daddy"? FWIW, I remember discussions with a fellow student - a Palestinian - in 1976/77 - where she told me about how Israel was targeting the homes of the families of "terrorists" - expressly punishing families for the actions of an individual. I do not see any evidence that the #NetanyahuAdminstration is not a terrorist operation pursuing ethnic cleansing - there killing goes far beyond self defense or an effort to unsih the guilty. SOrt of like the WW2 atrocities where the German forces killed whole villages in response to attacks on German troops.

@appassionato @palestine ANd I really wish my representative (#NancyPelosi) and Senators (#SenatorPadilla & #SenatorButler) would make a statement calling out the #NetanyahuAdminstration culpability for this terrorist act. Callously murdering aid workers serves no purpose other than to further the criminal goals of driving Palestinians from #Gaza
