Will it be #Stoat, #Nerimity, #Mezon, or something else?

There are open source projects like #Mezon & #Nerimity which aim to be Discord-like & the similarities are uncanny - intentionally, to preserve the experience. #Stoat (formerly #Revolt) has been around longer but I havent tried it. They all host the service, which you register with (like Discord), but there is no telling how long they will last. Stoat appears to encourage self hosting, but thats not for the normal user. Ultimately #OpenSource & #Federated will win out in the long term!
