I'm going to use this picture because I think it's a good implication of what I'm trying to say here. Happy Birthday to Jack Harlow. He is not going to ever find this, let alone use the feta first for anything, period. Unless it's blue sky, but I enjoy when artists pivot from the genre that they got into. It's like an actual artist changing mediums. You can be multifaceted, I tried to be. I think as a virtual photographer, with a lot of knowledge of photography, kind of dual-facing, that's besides the point. This album, Monica, is not a neo soul album. It ends exactly like Jack Harlow's other albums abruptly, maybe under a minute or two minutes. But what's a grievous or egregious about this is that the manufactured neo soul sound is made from the musicians and the background singers. Jack Harlow never attempts to stretch out a note or sing out a note. Even if it's R&B, it still doesn't hit those trademarks because R&B and neo soul are often at times. The same thing, just marketed differently to a white consumer. This is a white consumer making a black album yet again to, hopefully, black consumers. I just wish Jack Harlow was still Jackman. ♪ ♪
But, this is just an actual progression of most modern day white rappers. They have to pivot to something else. Machine Gun Kelly went to punk and was successful at it because that's what he originally looked like. Post Malone. Pivoted to country music. Unless it's blue sky, but I enjoy when artists pivot from the genre that they got into. It's like an actual artist changing mediums. You can be multifaceted, I tried to be. Because, again, that's what he looked like. And now Jack Harlow is doing this. It seems only Eminem and Russ are the only ones that stuck to their genre that they came in. And, with a dedicated fan base, they still make only that sound.
