I will present a poster on #IntelliCage experiments in #socially housed mice. The system enables continuous home-cage behavior monitoring, providing data to analyze #learning, stress-related #behavior, and long-term behavioral dynamics.

🦧 New study on #bonobo #SocialBehavior: Arias-Vélez et al. show that #bonobos actively intervene in #SocialInteractions to enforce group norms and reduce conflict. Rather than reacting only to direct threats, bystanders often stepped in during socially disruptive situations, suggesting a form of third-party social regulation resembling proto-norm enforcement.

📚Tristram Wyatt’s “#AnimalBehaviour: A Very Short Introduction” is a useful reminder for #NaturalisticNeuroscience: Behavior is not just output, but evolved action in ecological and social context. This is exactly the conceptual bridge we need between #Neuroscience/ #CompNeuro & realworld #behavior.

Indeed, an excellent recommendation: Tristram D. Wyatt’s “#AnimalBehaviour: A Very Short Introduction” is a useful reminder for #NaturalisticNeuroscience: #Behavior is not just output, but evolved action in ecological and social context. Tinbergen’s questions, costs, signals, conflict, cooperation. This is exactly the conceptual bridge we need between eg #NeuralDynamics and real-world behavior.

🧠 New paper by Zipple et al.: Standard laboratory housing may itself shape what we interpret as "#anxiety" in mice. Transferring adult mice to a more #naturalistic environment blocked the persistent fear response normally induced by the elevated plus maze, suggesting that this classic phenotype is environmentally contingent and rapidly reversible.
