#AAB_IPPM meeting kicking off with excellent talk from Martin Lines
from the Nature-Friendly Farming Network. He has found that introducing flower-rich margins on his farm as habitat for beneficial biodiversity reduces pest damage significantly and much reduces need for synthetic inputs.

Putting strips of wildflowers (possibly buffered by tussocky grass) actually through crop fields increases their mobility into the crop, delivering more even management.

Need for more accessible tools for farmers to tailor habitat interventions to crop and key pests (current/future) #NaturalEnemies #IPM #HabitatManagement #NatureFriendlyFarming

On my way up north (in a few stages) to #Ento24

I suspect I will be the only person in the Fediverse tooting about this, but would love to connect with other #entomology Mastodon-users if I am wrong!

Going to be speaking about landscapes, strawberry farms, bees, parasitoid wasps... #horticulture #pollinators #NaturalEnemies #IPPM
