The 'based on real events' story is very good, the themes are relevant (adoption, families, gay rights in Italy), Gigante's performance is great, and the supporting cast is overall fine.
But like in many Italian movies, dialogue is mostly phoney and unnatural, and there are plenty of irritating stereotypes and Instagram-tourist locations.
