As a fan of both cultures, I decided to educate myself out of respect for my friend. Today's reading is The Rape Of Nanking, once that's done, I have China's War with Japan, 1937-1945: The Struggle for Survival by Rana Mitter. After that will be The Search For Modern China by Jonathan D. Spence.
