For a generation of Kiwis Barry Jenkins virtually *was* the voice of rock music in the 1970s. He wasn't as trendy as many but still went almost overnight from playing Little Feat to The Stranglers. Commercial radio took at least 20 years to catch up. Plenty haven't.
