Caught #NZQandA with Jack Tame interviewing people like new Minister of Social Development Louise Upton. She makes Paula Bennett look kind.

Clear message that bringing back 90 Day Trial (and ability for employers to fire workers without reasons or consequences) is ideological.

She didn't bother reading Treasury report on scheme from last time under National and why it didn't work.

She's also fine with beneficiaries and families starving. "Consequences"!

Guest of Free Speech Union NZ, former UK Judge Lord Sumption has warned against moves to appoint more women to senior judicial positions, saying such a move could put off talented male candidates and destroy the delicate balance of the legal system.

This was in 2015 but seeing him on #NZQandA today I doubt his views have changed.

He said wanted to see proper gender balance within the judiciary but long hours are too much for women. 🙄

On #NZQandA Jack Tame listened to former UK Supreme Court judge Lord Jonathan Sumption on his libertarian sounding views on "restricting freedoms because of Covid". He has told people more at risk because of age, disability or health conditions, that their lives are less valuable than fit healthy young people.

It's amusing (and sad) that the @familyfirstnz spokesman refers to @GreenpeaceNZ as a "religion" in the hope that he will undermine it's credibility, while not realising that
(1) it isn't, and
(2) he is implicitly undermining his own (religion based) credibility.
