I just finished At The Grand Glacier Hotel by Laurence Fearnley. I really liked it. Have read several others by her and they were all good. She writes beautifully about the natural world and also about people.

It’s a rare treat to read a book set in places you know (Dunedin and the West Coast) and recognise the little peculiarities mentioned!

Fearnley draws on her own experiences of cancer treatment in this book, and that was something I could relate to also 🫤
