Things to Do This Week in NYC: July 17th - 24th - Untapped New York

Sail New York Harbor on a 19th-century sailboat, dive into 100 years of NYC travel posters, track down remnants of New Amsterdam, and more!

Untapped New York

In less awesome news, while going around one of the many trucks parked in the queens blvd "protected" bike lane, I failed to notice the flattened and very gory rat. Hopefully that comes out of my tires before I need to drag my bike inside for maintenance!

Was just walking up 1st Avenue after picking up some conveniences from the local CVS, and there's an old guy walking in front of me carrying a boombox blasting Sinatra's "Strangers In The Night".

He walks past these two elderly women who were chitchatting on the corner of 20th St and they started dancing and yelled "Oh my! Sinatra! Wonderful!" and they all broke down singing along to the "doobey doobey doo...." scatting bit there at the end.

Things that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside: when you see several subway conductors wear filter masks. 😷

Warm and fuzzy because apparently your lungs are exposed to ... something hazardous 🤷‍♂️ #NYCThings
