Day 1 of #NMET2024 has just started, the #metabolomics meeting of the Nordic countries. I will be live posting about this meeting, and I hope other will follow. It's always hard to cover everything, but still love the "conference tweeting" idea (refs). This will be a thread, one for each meeting day, with the first public, findable, the others unlisted, except for one I think are of general interest. Here goes!
Birgitte Furevik of MET Norway on low level jets (not the aeroplane kind) in Scandinavia.
Jacob Berg of MetOcean DHI on the challenges of offshore wind energy...
How does the ocean and lower boundary conditions affect both the wind power and the construction of the turbines in the ocean. Offshore #WindEnergy is projected to increase *a lot*
I might just be a bit of a nerd, but this #NMM2024 talk on wind farm wakes and downstream effects is *really* fascinating...
The planned wind farm expansion in the North Sea is absolutely massive.
Jake Badger of DTU Wind giving us a warm welcome and an overview of the department.
The future of #Renewables is being invented here.
I'm particularly looking forward to our pm tour of the hybrid power plant (with brand new 3 day old wind turbine) and turbine erosion rig...
Third and final day of #NMM2024 (you will be relieved to hear the live posting will end sometime around lunch today).
In this nomadic meeting we are today visiting the functionality architecture of DTU Wind at its beautiful Risø Campus by Roskilde fjord.
