For yuri she was a little light on the romance and relationship stuff starting in volume 3. The gun in volume 2 turned into a McGuffin. And my talent for memorizing sutra should have been foreshadowed right from the beginning.
It's a good eerie story, though with good characterization, with lots of interesting things happening.

I spend yesterday working on Return to the FATE GEAR. Not sure which character.
Mergaunt: everything including me goes up in flames.
Toriko: I have to convince her I I'm not a Otherside youkai. Which might be hard given that is what one might do.
Sorawo: same thing except we have to use DeepL to communicate. That is if I could convince her that it wasn't a cursed device.
If it is their universe I get to see Japan. Hopefully with papers forged by Toriko and Sorawo's associates.

1. I am too complicated.
2. If I could make soomthng like that, it would be too rigid. You need some flexibility to meet plot demands.
3. Most traits are not binary. There are many ways they can be expressed; thus, opposite is a meaningless concept.
4. I'm not that interesting or dynamic. And my opposite wouldn't either.

While some character feature facets of my personality, I haven't done a self-insert since high school.
None of my character are well suited to writing noir, but two of them could if choose to. Their natural stye is more poetic like mine.

By the logic of Edgar Eager books it would be the children who become mixed up in my character's adventures. There would be some important lesson to learn. Since they are too young for the lessons of love. So it would either be about loyalty or tolerance. My characters are way outside the bounds of the 30-50 social norms of the books. 2/2

That would be one of the Edgar Eager books. And first, they would find the magic banal, and second, they are too old to be learning the childhood lessons of those books. Lastly, they would be so upset at being torn away from the other characters to be saddled with a bunch of pre-teens who don't speak Japanese.
