#WordWeavers 17 If your MC wrote their autobiography, what would the title be, and why?
For Love of a Konbini Idol: is Ume's writing up her adventures as a fictional story.
Why: Privacy, and who would believe her if she wrote as a factual account?

#writingPride 6/13. Have you ever included a queer stereotype, trope, or in-joke? 2/2
Forgot in #KonbiniIdol the chief romance is between a butch/Femm pair. There is a lot more to them than that, but they were definitely conceived that way.
#wordweavers 5/30 Is it possible for someone to make a living as a writer/ artist.
It's urban fantasy. There are people who do. Ume in #KonbiniIdol even does. (It helps having a protective kami. She does.)
#WordWeavers 25.05.2026 What one event defines your MC? Part 2
From a meta point of view it is the moment I finish my character sketch and begin writing.
#WordWeavers 25.05.2026 What one event defines your MC?
Many moments define my characters. But one point stands out as the moment Ume from #KonbiniIdol is forced to decide how much of her integrity she is willing to sacrifice for love.
Actually, I am not going to share it. It is a pivotal moment in the character arc. Let's say there is a moment where she could have gone either way.
#PennedPossibilities 1024 — MC POV: Name a time where you cried your eyes out.
Snip from "For Love of a Konbini Idol:"
Shishi: A second highball did nothing, but when I started on a third, something broke in me, and all my misery came rolling up my chest. I had been an idol, and now I was nothing. NOTHING. The lights blurred, and the bartender behind the counter became indistinct.
It was in that haze that I heard a husky woman’s voice say, “You’re crying.” I looked up, expecting a ghost, but it was a woman’s face, framed in bleached blonde hair. I touched her face to be sure. Even as drunk as I was, I could tell it was beautiful. Her heavy makeup couldn’t hide its innate loveliness.
She touched my glass and said, “Another highball?”

#PennedPossibilities 1022 — How would your MC like to be remembered after their death? What sort of legacy would they want to leave?
#TimeTravelingGhost: They are dead. Emily hopes her legacy will have been stopping the Nazi from obtaining mind-reading. As a spy, she doesn't hope to be remembered for it.
#KonbiniIdol: Ume hopes to leave some books behind that will entertain people for years to come.
#MyGirlFriend: Kao would like to have done something to decrease discrimination against sexual/gender minorities. Not that she is doing much along that line.
The rest haven't thought about it.

“Umi, why the get-up?” Shishi asked me. The 15th-century European cavalier outfit I had rented, along with a flowing amber wig, was an unusual choice. It wasn’t as if I was a big cosplayer.
“It’s to keep my identity a secret. My publishers still receive threatening letters from the cult I wrote about. Apparently, I didn’t disguise its name well enough, and they took offense at my insulting their leader.”
“So, why come?” Her concerned look was so cute that it made me feel all warm inside.
“How could I resist speaking at HawaCon with their offering free airplane tickets and a hotel in a subtropical paradise? Especially when I knew you had never been out of Japan.”
That brought a smile to her face. I knew she felt inferior to people who had done and seen more than she had. Which was a laugh; she had seen things few mortals had set eyes on: the Heian courts of Takiyasha-tennō and Sanuki Tenman; the nuclear-ravaged ruins of Hiroshima; and the blessed Mayoiga.
Those weren’t memories we enjoyed. They were laced with the fear we had felt. The here and now was better. I looked down at my meal and said, “The stipend isn’t much, but it pays for our meals.”
I reached over and wiped a smear of gravy from her face and continued, “You can’t get a loco moco like this at home.”
