NEC meldt dat aanvoerder Tjaronn Chery per direct weer inzetbaar is voor de club. De aanvaller van de Nijmeegse club heeft toestemming gekregen nadat er een oplossing is gevonden in de zogenoemde paspoortkwestie rond internationals van Suriname en Indonesiรซ. Het gaat hierbij om Surinaamse of Indonesische voetballers die kinderen met een Nederlandse nationaliteit hebben.
