I gotta mention the soundtrack (which I owned on CD, you betcha). All-Star aside (even even tho it works more here than any other movie it was in), this movie has a fantastic soundtrack.
And a score by Mark Mothersbaugh, for Pete's sake! He's even the bandleader!

When they attack Casanova's sweet-ass Corvette limo, it's utterly ineffectual. But, they DID have a plan and they enacted it well, subtly showing their growth as a team. I think that's pretty cool.
