These are the icons on the shot-through plates of bulletproof vests painted by #Zhytomyr artist #Olena_Bukata.

She says that some of the plates are difficult to work with because of the large number of marks from shelling.

The icons are sold at auctions, and all the proceeds go to the needs of the #Ukraine's Armed Forces.

"I am a believer. I believe that not only body armour saves the lives of soldiers but also superior power. I paint mostly #Jesus_Christ on those plates," says #Ms_Bukata.
