today is moth monday!
Black woolly bear! That is, caterpillar of the giant leopard moth (๐๐บ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ค๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฆ ๐ด๐ค๐ณ๐ช๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ช๐ข), from Thompson Park last August:
Damn, that was a lot of work. Having to figure out how to use Excel, was....challenging๐
1264 lines and 10+ columns.
Last year, I did a season of moth trapping at a local preserve. I have been compiling an Excel sheet with Binomial name, Common name, Host plant, Habitat, Location, Date, Time, Temperature, Red list status, and on top of that, a folder with pictures of every moth I found there, and a folder of the best pictures I have of those species..
The Nature guides asked for as much information as possible to use for education and habitat improvements.
I'll hold on to it and tweak it for a few more days, have a fellow moth man take a look to find errors, and then send it.
