This image taken by holding a mobile 'phone camera to a telescope eyepiece shows the Moon and brightest stars in the Pleiades. It was, however, taken through thin high cloud which worsened the glare from the Moon.
Popular astronomy: the Moon will appear very close to the Pleiades star cluster in the sky tonight. They will actually be closest around 20 hours UTC, in the mid/late evening European time.
Binoculars may help in seeing the Pleiades given the brightness of the Moon.
