Had a crack at shader coding for the @FieldFX #MondayNightBytes ByteJam today.
I'm out of my comfort zone, and you're going to need to peel me away from radial symmetry, but I'm getting the hang of typecasting variables, and it's not quite as 'Dutch colours' as my earlier TIC-80 livecode attempts, so that feels like progress 😄

It was a spooky themed #MondayNightBytes ByteJam this evening, so I put another effect in the bag for Halloween projection.

This very nearly got nowhere, but I managed to pull it through in the last 10 minutes.
The scratchy rendering actually worked really well disguising the simplicity of the mouth - it looked a bit like it was lipsynching to the music!

Sometimes you guide the code. Sometimes the code guides you.
It was #MondayNightBytes again, for an hour's #ByteJam. I started off with the intention of drawing a flat bunch of tiles with a moving light behind them, but I panicked when I didn't think I had enough time left and made them spin around instead.
The shading, reflection, and draw ordering all work at speed but they won't bear close scrutiny 😄

An enjoyable #ByteJam this evening.

I played with concentric circles, with intention to icorporate into a demo shortly.

I got a decent way in but had trouble adding 3D projection/spinning (I usually start with that), so I whacked some extreme movement/curling into it for texture.

Here it is, a bit more how I envisaged, with a gyroscopic / retro-future sci-fi spaceship dashboard feel. I'm pleased with the technique for shuffling the palette.
