I think Mockingbird’s are very cool!
A great Mockingbird story from a friend about 30 years ago.
@[email protected] many years ago an old friend recorded 10m of a mockingbird’s song out in front of his home. The mockingbird regularly perched in a tree at the end of his driveway. The song seemed to randomly shift from stanza to stanza. A week or two later he went out while the mockingbird was singing and started playing the recording. The bird stopped singing, listened for a bit and started again. My friend turned off the playback … the bird continued playing the same song recorded previously.
listening in delight as a northern mockingbird sings a complex series of soundalikes, a lovely reminder of the slow shift of seasons.
Mockingbirds: The late-night infomercial multi-tone car alarm of the bird world.
Tired: rooster crowing
Wired: mockingbird, hyped up on industrial strength espresso, running through an aftermarket car alarm's litany of siren songs
Not complaining! I like it.
