Cheering to see the #MoDettes first single, White Mice, and album, The Story So Far, included in the Women in Revolt! #art #Activism and the #womensmovement in the UK 1970–1990 exhibition at Tate Britain:

Hardly hear of the Mo-dette’s these days – especially compared to some of those groups they were associated with, such as The Raincoats and Slits.

But then the exhibition is all about artists who were often marginalised at the time - and since, too.

It’s just shame it’s taken a 40/50 years for so many to appear at the likes of the Tate. Better late than never. Hopefully those doing equivalent work today won’t have to wait as long.

(By the way, if you’re thinking of going to the exhibition, might be an idea to leave plenty of time. As well as all the art and #photography to look at, there’s lots of material to read and #videos to watch. Also, pace yourself – don’t get burnt out after the first couple of rooms, like a certain person I know.)
