In case you're into #VikingMetal with a bit more #BlackMetal influences, earlier this month a remaster of #Mithotyn's debut album 'In the Sign of the Ravens' has been released. Their other two albums are coming in July and August.

Honestly, I'm not under the impression that the sound quality has gotten that much of an upgrade, but the melodies are still great. I really liked the band in my teens, and I still give their 3rd album the occasional spin.

If you're interested in the origins of #Falconer or #KingOfAsgard and generally have a soft spot for somewhat rough, but melodic #Metal, give it a try.

Enough has been written about the new Metallica album today. Instead, I'd like to introduce a band I loved as a teen: #Mithotyn.

Falls under #VikingMetal but more on the #BlackMetal side. Production was always mixed, but great melodies made up for it. Sadly, they disbanded after three albums.

From this split, two bands emerged: The melodic parts went to #Falconer and the rough charm to #KingofAsgard.

Heute wurde schon genug über die neue Metallica-Scheibe geschrieben. Da stelle ich lieber eine Band vor, die ich als Teen geliebt habe: #Mithotyn.

Läuft unter #VikingMetal, hat aber etwas #BlackMetal-Schlagseite. Immer durchwachsene Produktion, aber dafür tolle Melodien. Nach drei Alben haben sie sich dann leider getrennt.

Aus dieser Trennung entstanden immerhin zwei Bands: Die melodiösen Parts landeten bei #Falconer und der raue Charme bei #KingofAsgard.
