It used to be that M:I had plot, plot twists, illusion, and intrigue. And #SimonPegg got to be the comic relief.
Now, there's no reason given for the characters to suddenly be at various internationally famous places. It's just computer-generated chase/fight sequence after chase/fight sequence, with artificial blurring and artificial lens flare.
It feels like a lot of exposition was dropped onto the cutting room floor because the movie was already long. There are sudden leaps in dialogue.
I found myself only watching in order to find out why #HayleyAtwell was in Part 2, but #VanessaKirby and #RebeccaFerguson were not.
