Lots of highlights at #Spurn #MigFest this weekend, including 2 lifer bird species and 2 lifer insects. But this is #WildflowerHour so here's the botanical highlight - Duke of Argyll's Tea Tree growing naturalised by the seawatching hut. #MigFest24 #Yorkshire #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography
This afternoon at #Spurn #MigFest I went on the guided insect walk, which teamed up with the botanical walk to look for Sea Aster Mining Bee, a local speciality. Result! Also Perennial Sow Thistle, Sea Aster (of course) and Lesser Sea-spurrey. #WildflowerHour #Yorkshire #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #photography
Common Restharrow growing by a path at #Spurn #BirdObservatory during #MigFest yesterday. In case you're wondering, yes I did see some birds too. But it's #WildflowerHour not bird hour. Yorkshire #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #plantscience #photography
I spent the weekend at #MigFest, the bird migration festival organised by #Spurn #BirdObservatory and the #BTO. Spurn is currently full of Perennial Sow-thistle, so that's been the theme of my weekend. Stunning flowers once you look at them properly. #Yorkshire #WildflowerHour #Bloomscrolling #botany #plants #flowers #wildflowers #plantscience #photography
