Michael Frayn is one of the most frustrating writers on this planet. This guy is either extremely brilliant (see CLOUDS and NOISES OFF) or just completely awful. I cannot stand the man's fiction. I read three of his novels last year and loathed them. I just don't understand how someone can fail to hit a certain baseline with every work. Usually a lesser book from a writer has SOMETHING going for it. But a turd from Frayn truly stinks up the room. It's so infuriating!
Is there any Michael Frayn novel that is actually GOOD? I've read three of them in the last few weeks (TOWARDS THE END OF THE MORNING, A VERY PRIVATE LIFE, and SWEET DREAMS) and I pretty much hated all of them. The dude may be a fantastic playwright, but he cannot write a novel -- even a short one -- to save his life.
Fantastic production of #MichaelFrayn's play #Copenhagen in, er, #Copenhagen (in Danish so it's actually #kobenhavn).
Superb staging and acting at #kglteater which has an impressive view over #CopenhagenHarbour.
Shout out to @Ian if #nielsBohrInstitute for the #CloudChamber + #DoubleSlit experiment setup in the foyer..
