I'll be summing up some of the adventures of this month, mostly exploration routes of nearby National Parks to get to know our hike friendly surroundings. First we have Hermenegildo Galeana Park which happens to be a National Reserve for the Mexican Gray Wolf, an endangered species of wolf that is slowly being reintroduced to its habitat. We didn't find a lot of trails to follow but it is a beautiful place to camp in or arrange a BBQ with friends and family.

It's important that hunters know the difference and can't claim they thought they were shooting a #Coyote. In New Mexico, it's perfectly legal to shoot coyotes year round without limit except that it has to be during daylight. This puts similarly appearing species like #MexicanGrayWolves at risk.

The wolves should be a priority over livestock. Ranchers should be reimbursed for losses. And if ranching isn’t sustainable where the wolves are maybe they should be encouraged to move or stop raising livestock.
