Priority #3: Cutting business tax rates

Look, Maureen, I don’t think you understand what position you’re actually standing for.

Last time around, you wanted to use mayoral powers to eliminate equal marriage. Now you want to use them to change tax rates.

THAT’S NOT HOW THIS WORKS.

This is like applying to be a Starbucks barista because you want to change the dividend paid to shareholders.

Priority #2: Fighting knife crime.

Yep, cool. You and all the other candidates.

Except…

‘My emphasis will be on reconciliation and kinship to help young offenders.‘

Those are definitely words. I understand them all. And yet … I’m confused.

Okay, now let’s dig into Maureen’s priorities.

1. Provide visionary creative leadership.

How does Maureen express her creativity? Through her abuses of the English language, apparently. Beyond that, your guess is as good as mine.

Winning an out-of-court settlement doesn’t mean your employer was wrong to sack you. For that, you need a ‘wrongful dismissal’ case. Maureen didn’t win a wrongful dismissal case.

An out-of-court settlement meant the company decided it would be cheaper to make her go away than to fight her ridiculous claims. How much cheaper?
No idea. How much was the settlement? Also no idea.

Thirdly, Maureen was sacked for her behaviour and then ‘a year later she won an out-of-court settlement’.

This is going on the list of weird admissions. I’m going to rate it above the ‘international author’ thing, way below the ‘hate crime’ thing, and maybe slightly below the ‘I support a different party than the one I’m standing for’ thing.

I won ‘an out-of-court settlement’ isn’t vindication, Maureen.

Let’s dig into this one. Strap in; this is going to be a wild ride.

First off, what is ‘natural marriage’, Maureen? Really? What is it? Define it, please.

Secondly, no one hates you. Get over yourself. We hate the hate you give. We have neither the time nor the energy to hate you. That’s on you. And I suspect you’ve got plenty.

No guesses? Shame.

Oh well, I'll just shout into the void then. It's what I do best.

The one remaining candidate is none other than #MaureenMartin of the #ChristianPeoplesAlliance

Let's have a look at her campaign leaflet, shall we?

Love this from the Christian People's Alliance website:
Ms Martin was 'discriminated against for daring to follow the teachings of Christ'.

You know, Jesus, who was famous for declaring that we should all hate our neighbour as we hate ourselves.

That's what he said, right? I'm not misremembering that, am I?

So, like, she thought she could ban equal marriage in one random London borough?

Following the furore, Ms Martin’s employer had a little look see at her Twitter feed, where she was found sharing anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric, and promptly sacked her for ‘FAILING TO INFORM THEM OF HER INTENTION TO STAND FOR OFFICE’.

Anyways, that was 2022. Let’s see what this year brings.

So, first off, the tweet that caught the attention of the fash. I shared a photo of #MaureenMartin’s actual campaign leaflet, which stated that she would:
'cut through political correctness and state the truth that natural marriage between a man and a woman is the fundamental building block for a successful society, and the safest environment for raising children'.
