Trump allies in Michigan charged with felonies involving voting machines, illegal ‘testing’
Two political allies of former President Donald Trump have been criminally charged in Michigan in connection with an alleged effort to access and tamper with voting machines following the 2020 election. A special prosecutor said Tuesday that Matthew DePerno and Daire Rendon participated in a scheme to break into the voting machines and perform tests. Trump endorsed DePerno in his unsuccessful run as Republican attorney general candidate last year. Rendon is a former Republican state representative. DePerno issued a statement denying the charges. A phone message was left for an attorney listed as representing Rendon.
