The named son of the #Chief_Rabbi of #Ukraine, #Matityagu (#Anton) #Samborsky, died at the front

"In 2002, my wife and I adopted an 11-year-old boy who remained an orphan. His name was #Anton_Samborskyi, but we gave him the #Jewish name #Matityagu (#Motya) in honour of the heroic leader of the #Maccabean uprising against the invading empire more than 2,200 years ago - the events that formed the basis of the #Hanukkah holiday," he said.
