Day 14 of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge! I made it!! 🎉

I did the same chair and bed exercises as yesterday, albeit not as many (2 sets of 20 instead of 5 sets of 10). I noticed that increasing from 10 to 20 per set produced more burn/huffing & puffing, so still challenging for me.

It took ~11 mins, during which I watched a YouTube video of the Levant Mine Disaster of 1919.

I think I will extend my challenge for another 14 days. 👍

Day 13 of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge:

Bed exercises again tonight (no cats this time, they’re too busy sleeping on the heating vents). I did 6 leg/ab exercises (5 sets of 10), and also tried out two “chair” exercises (2 sets of 10) that were recommended by my instructor.

It took about 15 minutes, during which I watched another YouTube disaster video (a guilty pleasure). Feeling surprisingly good. Almost to my goal!

Day 12 of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge:

We had our weekly 1-hour workout with our online instructor/trainer. Light weights, stretching/flexibility, core strengthening , etc. I made the mistake of telling her that I’ve been doing daily short exercises and bed exercises. She was very supportive of this, and responded by assigning me additional chair exercises to do. Me and my big mouth lol

Day 11 of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge.

Today I did bed exercises again (this time my cats joined me, they were very curious and occasionally in the way). I did 2-3 sets of the same 5 leg/ab exercises as last time. Seemed easier today than last time, despite doing a few more. Not sure if that means I rushed them, I am getting better/more stamina, or if simultaneously researching electric kettles on Amazon helped pass the time.🤷🏻‍♀️

Day 10 (from yesterday, forgot to post!) of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge.

Yesterday I did some arm/shoulder/back exercises that are supposed to help with posture. Technically they were probably more of a stretch than an exercise, but my posture has not been great lately so it felt good to do this.

Day 9 (reprise) of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge.

Today I tried something different: bed exercises! To avoid any misunderstandings, these are leg, arm, and ab exercises that can be done while lying on a bed or a couch. I did two sets of 5 leg/ab exercises, which took me ~10 minutes. I watched a YouTube video about the Niagara Falls Ice Bridge Disaster of 1912 while I exercised, which was interesting and made the time pass quickly.

Day 9 of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge……didn’t happen today. But tomorrow is another day, and I will try again.

Me to my calendar:

Day 8 of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge:

Today I did another short workout from YouTube…same creator but different video this time. It didn’t include any jumping and that was good for my knees.

I have also created a calendar to track the days when I #exercise, which is both visually satisfying and helps me stay accountable (methinks the calendar silently judges me if I don’t have anything to write down).

Day 7 of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge:

Today was tough mentally…very busy with meetings, with no time in between for #exercise. Afterward I felt tired and on the verge of skipping my workout (me arguing with me: “pleeeaaase just this once…I’ll exercise double tomorrow to make up for it…”). But I buckled down and squeezed in the 3-min YT workout right before dinner (which is really not that difficult, after all). So I felt good about that.

Day 6 of my “do a brief workout every day for 14 days” challenge was spent taking down the outdoor Christmas lights and decorations before shorter round of snow moves in. Not too physically demanding but I’m still quite sore from yesterday’s workout.

Tomorrow will be a busy day with lots of meetings. I’m aiming to do at least one brief YouTube exercise at some point in between.
